Infamy! Infamy...

Contagion's got it in for me!

In order to appease him, and quell the vicious slander he's put up at his site, I have decided to spend a paltry amount of the insurance money my life savings on this:

I hope it chokes him he enjoys it!

Rumors of his death have been greatly exaggerated.

I must say, I've put myself right in the firing line as regards to Alex's "health", since posting this.

Please rest assured that he is indeed incredibly busy, and has not been the unfortunate victim of a "Peanut-Butter-in-the-Rediwhip" type tragedy.

Evil Sally and the Blender

My husband has been skulking around for the last twenty-four hours, muttering, "Murderer.." whenever he sees me. Why?

I made a banana smoothie with peanut butter. Alex is allergic to nuts, and I am constantly forgetting this. I was justifiably proud of the fact that I'd made a healthy and nutritious drink with the new blender, without loss of life or limb...or so I thought.

He'd just taken a huge swig of it, when I froze in horror. "Spit it out!", I screamed. He was standing there, obviously wondering if I'd finally lost my mind.

"It's got nuts in it!", did the trick, and he was soon over the sink, repeatedly rinsing his mouth with water.

Luckily, there was no real damage apart from tingly lips, and a swollen tongue.

Make of that, what you will...

I'm It!

VW tagged me with Ogre's meme.

If I were an athlete, I wouldn't wear these.

Yes, I will still be giggling when I'm in Hell..

Not having a clue how to steal it, I might as well credit the hilarious Harry Hutton of, "Chase me ladies, I'm in the cavalry" for this.

That Gets My Vote!

The U.K General Election is to be held on May 5th.

In the absence of any letters from the residents of Ohio telling me how to vote, I took a look at this quiz. Apparently, I should vote Green, but I don't see how tree-hugging'll reduce my Council Tax.

Luckily, there is another option. Namely, The Monster Raving Loony Party!

This is an actual Political Party, previously headed by "Screaming Lord Sutch", and presently led by one "Howling Lord Hope".

Check out their 2005 manifesto. Excerpt:

Police helmets will be reintroduced and made even sillier. The higher a police rank, then the higher the hat becomes.

If you took the quiz, please be kind enough to drop your results in the comments. I'm interested. Thanks.

Surprise Revealed!

It's the Karnival of the Kidz!

Our gracious hostess is, of course, VW, of One Happy Dog Speaks.

I've been digging out some old pictures of me, and I don't think I'll be using that crop tool after all. Seventies clothing is far too amusing!

Hat tips to Bou, Harvey, and Alex for the banner.

It's All About the Baby

I love MS Picture Manager!

Having been banned from going anywhere near Photoshop, I can now ruthlessly do away with dysfunctional family members to my heart's content, and focus on what's really important:

I found this today.

I must say, I particularly liked the Gallery of the Absurd, and the American Social Hygiene posters.

I'll just quickly...

There are some tasks that seem to just...expand. Cleaning the refrigerator is one of them. Every single time I decide to empty it of all it's perspex boxes, and compartments to thoroughly wash and disinfect it,(and them) I find yet more surfaces in need of cleaning. Seriously. I spent three hours this afternoon on ours.

It's like when you start to paint a door frame. Easy enough job that you think will take fifteen minutes... it's only a door frame, right? They have eleven separate surfaces, and unless you use too big a brush, and splatter paint everywhere, it takes forever.

Damn well takes away from valuable blogging / surfing -the -internet- all- day time, too!

Hmmm...Bonfire entry?

Four Year Old Speed Freak

The Fair was in town today. Tara likes the Merry-Go-Rounds, of course. But they bore her after two revolutions. She gets this little expression on her face, as if she wishes they would take off, or something...

She'd been on a Waltzer before, and loved it, as I do. I don't mind rides that pull g's, as long as they're not sickeningly repetitive, and I stay upright. But this one was evil. I honestly thought my back was going to break.

Here are pictures, just in case you don't know what I'm going on about:

Usually I'm the one leaning to make the thing spin even faster, but this was something else!

She just sat there, with a stoic expression on her face until it ended. When we discovered it'd been so fast her shoes had come off.

She'll love The Pepsi Max this summer! Only 3.5g, and much easier on the spine.

I know it might seem teeny-tiny to you 'Murcans, but it goes out over the sea! Can't wait :-)

As long as she steers clear of rides like this, I'll be happy!

The Pope - According to Tara

On Friday, I asked Tara if she had been praying for The Pope at school, and she said, "no".

On Monday, I asked her if The Pope had been mentioned at all, and she just looked confused.

Today, we got notification that the school is to be closed on Friday as a mark of respect, so I asked her again. I got a blank look.

It was only when I mentioned the words, "John Paul", that she knew what I was talking about. It transpired that the children were called into the assembly hall to watch the removal of the body on T.V today. Here are the things Tara gleaned from the experience:

1. John Paul loved us all.

2. John Paul was very ill, and it was sad.

3. John Paul had a funny hat.

4. And a stick.

5. All the people were laughing at his hat, as he went past.

6. He had a face like this (Imagine small child screwing face up as if in agony)

In my opinion, all children should be sent to Catholic school, just for the comedy value!

Guest Blogging

My first two posts are up at One Happy Dog Speaks.

There's an opportunity to love America, and a caption competition. I've got a stack of photos and funny emails from VW, so that should be enough to keep me going!

Please stop by and say hello.

It's worth a visit just to read Alex's comment to the second post. You won't be disappointed!

Well, in a manner of speaking...

My lovely blog niece, VW, is heading off for a well-deserved vacation, and is foolishly thoughtfully leaving me the keys to her home!

Ideas and suggestions are very welcome. You may drop them in the comments here, or send them to WhimsyCapriciousATGmailDOTcom.

I'm banned from using Photoshop.

Not having anything to post over the last few days, I decided to see what else was on this here computer, and play around with it.

I think we can safely say that Ogre has nothing to fear.
